Elder Law Issues

Diminished Capacity

What do you do when a loved one is no longer able to make decisions for him or herself due to alzheimers, dementia, or another illness?  How can you protect a loved one from a person who may want to take advantage of their diminished physical or mental capacity?  What do you do if you suspect physical or financial abuse of an elderly loved one?  What if someone is accusing you of physically or financially abusing an elderly loved one?

Legatum can assist you in getting a court order called a ‘committeeship’ which will give you the legal authority to assist your loved one.
